Grandi Art Institute and now lives in Praiano, where he works at the art studio of master artist Paolo Sandulli. His path reflects a long-standing local tradition: learning through direct collaboration, observation, and daily practice.

From a very young age, Scala has dedicated himself to the construction of stringed musical instruments, developing a deep relationship with materials, proportions, and sound. Alongside his work as a luthier, he pursues an artistic research in ink drawing, where technical knowledge of instrument making and design merges with an essential and rigorous visual language.
His works combine structural precision with poetic sensitivity, transforming forms, structures, and details from the musical world into graphic signs of strong expressive value.
Watercolour and Expressionist Vision
Among the artists who have made Praiano their creative home is Marina Pane, born on November 3, 1969, in Vico Equense, to an Italian father and an English mother. Raised in Positano, she now lives and works in Praiano.
Pane studied at the Art School of Sorrento (now a liceo) and later attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. Largely self-taught, she works across painting, decoration, and craftsmanship, with a particular focus on watercolour and oil painting.
Her work draws from early twentieth-century painting, especially Expressionism, yet translates these influences into a deeply personal visual language. The nature and characters of the Amalfi Coast remain her primary sources of inspiration — a connection to place that runs through every brushstroke.
